You ever get super hyped to start something, like working out or studying, but then after a few days, you just stop? That’s called a motivation drop, and it happens to almost everyone. Our brains love new stuff, so starting feels exciting. But when the excitement dies down, we hit a wall, and that’s when most of us give up. It’s not because we’re lazy—it’s just that our brains want fast rewards, and big goals take time.
One way to get past that is by setting smaller goals. Instead of saying “I’m gonna get a six-pack,” you could say “I’ll do 20 crunches every day.” It feels more doable, and when you see yourself sticking with it, it gives you a little win. Those small wins actually build confidence and keep you going longer. So yeah, starting is cool, but finishing is even better—and it’s all about tricking your brain to stay in the game.
