Approximately 730 000 people commit suicide every year. Almost 2000 suicide deaths a day. This statistic is a sad portrayal of all the unnecessary deaths that could have been avoided. Depression, anxiety, trauma or even substance abuse can lead to suicide. These challenges feel like they are impossible to get rid of, but doing things like speaking about your problems or seeking help from outside sources can help.
Believing nothing about a situation will change or feeling stuck in a bad place will eventually lead people into feeling hopeless. Suicide often starts when people start feeling hopeless about their lives. Believing that nothing will change and life will always be a constant struggle makes death seem like a better option. However, that belief is misguided. Life is constantly changing, nothing will last forever, even the bad times.
