How to tell of someone is struggling with mental health issues

Mental health challenges don’t always look the same in everyone. While some signs are clear, others can be harder to see. Paying attention to changes in behavior can help you recognize when someone might be silently struggling. Offer them a helping hand and let them know they are not alone. A common sign is isolating themself from social activities. If someone who used to enjoy spending time with friends suddenly avoids gatherings or isolates themselves, it could signal psychological problems. This can be a way of coping with overwhelming thoughts or feelings. Another red flag is a shift in mood or personality. A normally happy person might become irritated easily, very anxious, or emotionally flat. On the other hand, someone quiet might suddenly show bursts of anger or sadness without a clear cause. Changes in sleep or eating habits are also important to notice. People may sleep far more or less than usual, lose interest in food, or overeat. These physical changes can also be because of overwhelming thoughts or worries. If someone talks about feeling hopeless every once in a while, that is normal. However, if it is constant and it gets to a point where they don't feel that they don’t see the point in things anymore and lose all motivation, it’s crucial to take it seriously. These could be signs of depression or suicidal thoughts.

The best thing you can do is Reach out to them. Ask how they’re doing, listen without judgment, and encourage them to seek professional attention.
