How to Stop Overthinking

Overthinking happens when we think too much about a problem or situation, often making it seem worse than it really is. It can lead to stress, anxiety, and trouble making decisions. The first step to stop overthinking is to recognize when it's happening and gently tell yourself to pause.

One helpful way to manage overthinking is to focus on the present moment. You can try deep breathing, going for a walk, or doing something creative to distract your mind. Writing your thoughts down can also help you organize them and let go of worries that aren’t helpful.

Finally, try to be kind to yourself. Nobody is perfect, and it’s okay to make mistakes or not have all the answers right away. Talking to a friend or a trusted adult can help you see things more clearly. With practice, you can learn to quiet your mind and feel more at peace.
