Have you ever compared yourself to someone else because you envy them for being so pretty, having a nice body, and being able to eat as much as they want without becoming fat and feeling insecure about yourself? Well that is completely relatable to a lot of people nowadays. This topic is very common to teens especially because of problems such as bullying, getting compared by parents or even getting bad compliments from friends that can completely make you self conscious. Words such as “...omg you eat a lot” from parents is where everything can start.
Teens develop eating disorders because of these mistakes. Getting body shamed by parents hurts more than it would coming from friends because they lack knowing how to set the bars for their children. Oftentimes teens would skip meals and use “I’m not hungry” as an excuse to starve themselves because of a belief of becoming more “skinny”. There are more ways than just starving yourself to become skinny, however not everyone would prefer to take the long way.
Ever wonder what the long way is? Having a healthy diet and working out consistently. It may sound like a very long journey, however it is so much better compared to starving. Because doing this would help with your mood whether you’re angry, sad or happy. It helps build a stronger system for yourself, limiting you from having a bad day, and can help avoid sickness.
